Marigold is also known as Calendula and is suitable for many purposes.
It is traditionally used for horses as a blood tonic, and for stressed anxious animals.
Calendula is now also widely used for skin and intestinal problems.
It contains essential oils and provitamin A.

A tincture or extract is used externally in creams and lotions for (abrasions) wounds, burns.
Internally, it is used against stomach ulcers and inflammations.
It is rich in sulfur and has excellent blood cleansing and antifungal properties.

You can make a lotion for painful, inflamed eyes yourself from these flowers.
Combined with Cleavers - in equal parts - it is a perfect mix for the lymph and kidney system.
Horses with cystitis that do not respond to conventional medications often do benefit from a combination of Marigold, Cleavers and Nettle.

Rich in sulfur, astringent, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, antioxidant, antiviral, antiseptic, antifungal, antitumor and immune modulating.
 

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
INWARD - Up to 30 grams daily through the feed.
OUTDOOR - Boil ½ liter of water with 3 handfuls of Marigold, and use as a lotion or compress for skin problems.
