Deworming liquid for use in adult dogs and cats, weaned or unweaned puppies and kittens in the effective treatment
against roundworms some tapeworms, lungworm and for the treatment of protozoa Giardia.
A white oral suspension of fenbendazole, ready to use as an oral anthelmintic for domestic dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
1 ml contains 100 mg of active ingredient fenbendazole.
Applications
A broad spectrum anthelmintic for the treatment of domestic dogs and cats infected with immature and adult stages of gastrointestinal and respiratory nematodes.
Adult dogs and cats:
For the treatment of adult dogs and cats infected with gastrointestinal nematodes and cestodes:
Roundworm spp (Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati and Toxascaris leonina) Ancylostoma spp.Trichuris spp.Uncinaria spp.Taenia spp.
Pups and kittens:
For the treatment of puppies and kittens infected with gastrointestinal nematodes and puppies infected with protozoa (Giardia spp.).
Pregnant dogs:
For the treatment of pregnant dogs to reduce prenatal infections with Toxocara canis and transmission of T. canis and Ancylostoma caninum to puppies via milk.
Other:
Also for the treatment of dogs infected with lungworm Oslerus (Filaroides) osleri or protozoa Giardia spp. and cats infected with lungworm Aelurostrongylus abstrusus.
Also has an ovicidal effect on nematode eggs.
Dosage and administration:
Shake container well before use.
Routine treatment of adult dogs and cats:
1 ml per 1 kg body weight as a single oral dose.
(= 100mg fenbendazole / kg body weight).
Practical dosage recommendations:
2 to 4 kg 4ml
4 to 8 kg 8ml
8 to 16kg 16ml
16 to 24kg 24ml
24 to 32kg 32ml
32 to 64kg 64ml
For dogs heavier than 64kg, an additional 1ml is required for every additional 1kg of body weight.
The dose should be mixed with food, or administered orally immediately after feeding.
Treatment should be repeated when natural re-infestation with parasitic worms occurs.
Routine treatment of adult animals with minimal exposure to infection recommended 2-4 times per year.
More frequent treatment at 6-8 weeks, is advisable in dogs in kennels.
Pups and kittens under six months of age:
0.5 ml per kg body weight per day for 3 consecutive days given by mouth after feeding in unweaned animals or mixed with food for weaned animals. (= 50mg fenbendazole / kg body weight per day for 3 days).
Practical dosage recommendations:
Up to 1kg 0.5 ml per day for 3 days
1 to 2 kg 1 ml per day for 3 days
2 4 kg 2 ml per day for 3 days
4 6 kg 3 ml per day for 3 days
6 8 kg 4ml daily for 3 days
8 to 10 kg per day for 3 days 5ml
For puppies heavier than 10 kg, an additional 0.5 ml daily is required for each additional kg of body weight.
Puppies should be treated at, 2 weeks old, 5 weeks old and before leaving at the breeder.
Treatment may also be required to 8 and 12 weeks.
Thereafter, the frequency of treatment can be reduced unless puppies remain in kennels where re-infection is more likely to occur.
Pregnant dogs:
1ml per 4kg body weight per day from day 40 of pregnancy continuously until 2 days after parturition (approximately 25 days).
(= 25mg fenbendazole / kg body weight per day).
Practical dosage recommendations:
4kg 1ml daily for approx. 25 days
8kg 2ml daily for approx. 25 days
12kg 3ml daily for approx. 25 days
20kg 5ml daily for approx. 25 days
40kg 10ml daily for approx. 25 days
For dogs weighing more than 40kg, an additional 1ml is required for every additional 4kg of body weight.
Because treatment of pregnant dogs is 98% effective, puppies of these dogs can be treated themselves with a three-day course of treatment at 2 and 5 weeks of age.
Pregnant cats:
Pregnant cats can be safely treated with this product, but require only a single treatment at the routine dose for adult cats
Administer 1 ml per 1 kg body weight as a single dose. (= 100mg fenbendazole/kg body weight).
Increased dosage for specific infections:
For the treatment of clinical worm infections in adult dogs and cats or Giardia spp. infections in dogs, administer 1 ml per 2 kg body weight per day for 3 consecutive days. (= 50mg fenbendazole/kg body weight per day for 3 days).
For the control of lungworm Oslerus (Filaroides) osleri in dogs, 1 ml per 2 kg body weight per day for 7 consecutive days. (= 50 mg fenbendazole / kg body weight per day for 7 days).
A follow-up course of treatment may be necessary in some cases.
For the control of lungworm Aelurostrongylus abstrususus in cats, 1 ml per 2 kg body weight per day for 3 consecutive days. (= 50mg fenbendazole/kg body weight per day for 3 days).
Benzimidazoles have a wide margin of safety and even in overdose are unlikely to cause reactions.
