Advantage® is a fast-acting agent that kills fleas. The administration is simple: you drip the contents of the pipette between the hairs of your cat on the intact skin.

Advantage Cat with the active ingredient Imidacloprid works preventively and curatively against fleas. The product stops fleas biting in 3 to 5 minutes and kills adult fleas within the hour, before they can lay eggs. The fleas present on your cat are all killed within 24 to 48 hours of administration. A single treatment with Advantage Cat protects your cat from fleas for 4 weeks. Treatment with these pipettes can also be used as part of a strategy for treating flea allergy/dermatitis.

Re-infestation by the appearance of new fleas in the environment may persist for six weeks or longer after the start of treatment. Thus, more than one treatment may be necessary depending on the amount of fleas in the environment.

Method of administration

Drip the contents of the pipette between the hairs on intact skin (spot-on) at the base of the skull.

Rainwater has no effect on the efficacy of the product, unless your cat is frequently exposed to heavy rain. In that case, additional treatment may be necessary, especially if there are many fleas in the area. Advantage® should not be administered more often than once a week.

Contraindications

Advantage® Cat should not be used on:

• Animals that are hypersensitive to the active ingredients.

• In unweaned kittens younger than 8 weeks of age.

Side effects

Should your cat lick up the drug from the administration site, the bitter taste may cause salivation. However, this is not a poisoning symptom and disappears on its own within a few minutes.

Recommendations

Your cat may be reinfested by fleas that have developed in the environment for up to 6 weeks after starting treatment. Thus, in case of a severe flea infestation, more than 1 treatment may be necessary.

In addition, it is important to treat the environment to kill adult fleas and flea larvae. Use an appropriate environmental spray such as Bolfo Basket and Carpet Spray.
