Pestigon Spot-on are drops to control fleas and ticks in dogs. For each weight class

Pestigon Spot-on for dogs is a clear, colorless to pale yellow solution in pipette form, developed especially (and only) for topical use.

How does it work?

Pestigon Spot-on works as a treatment for flea infestation (presence of animal parasites on or in the body). The product has immediate insecticidal action and long-lasting insecticidal efficacy against new infestations of adult fleas for up to 8 weeks. The product has long-lasting acaricide (pesticide) efficacy against lxodes ricinus for up to 2 weeks, Rhipicephalus sanguineus for up to 3 weeks and Dermacentor reticulatus for up to 4 weeks. If ticks from these families are present when the product is applied, all ticks present will not be killed within 48 hours, but will likely be killed within a week. The product may be used as part of a treatment for flea-induced allergic dermatitis if determined by a veterinarian.

Method of administration.

1. Hold the pipette upright.

2. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents are at the bottom of the pipette.

3. Push the breakable part of the tip of the pipette back along the dotted line.

4. Push the coat between the shoulder blades to the side until the skin is visible.

5. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and gently squeeze to apply the entire contents in one or two places on the skin.

Side effects

If the product is licked up, a short period of excessive salivation may follow. Transient skin reactions at the administration sites (skin discoloration, localized alopecia, pruritus, erythema) and general itching or alopecia after use have been reported as very rare, suspected side effects. Do not overdose. If you see serious side effects or other effects, consult your veterinarian.

Do not give to

Do not give product to puppies younger than 8 weeks of age. Do not use in sick (systemic disease and fever) or convalescent animals. Do not use in rabbits, as side effects and even death may occur. This product is specially designed for dogs. Do not use in cats, for cats there is the Pestigon Spot-on! cat. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients.

Caution.

The product does not prevent ticks from attaching to animals but ticks can be killed within 24-48 hours of attachment, before they have filled up. This minimizes the risk of disease transmission. Once killed, ticks often fall off the animal, but any remaining ticks can be easily removed by gently pulling/turning them loose.

When used as part of a treatment for flea-induced dermatitis, monthly treatment of the allergic animal and any other dogs in the home is recommended. For optimal flea control in multi-pet households, all dogs and cats should be treated with an appropriate insecticide. Ticks can still attach themselves. Therefore, in conditions favorable to ticks, transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded. Fleas of pets are also often found in the basket, on blankets and on the usual resting places (such as carpets and furniture) of the animal. With large infestations and at the start of treatment, these should also be treated with an appropriate insecticide and by regular vacuuming. Avoid frequent bathing or washing of the animal because the maintenance of the efficacy of the product has not been studied in these cases.
